A word of introduction to Parents from the Principal

Neil Entwistle

Dear Parents,

I wanted to take this opportunity to write to you all to introduce myself as the new principal of the Wellspring Academy.  I have met some of you, but there are still many that I have not yet met.  Please feel free to stop me or introduce yourself to me.  I can’t promise that I will be able to remember your name at first, but I will try my best.

My name is Neil Entwistle.  It is such an honour and a joy for me to be able to serve you and your children here.  I am a Christian and love the Lord Jesus with all my heart. Before coming to Rwanda I lived in the United States of America.  I was a teacher there for six years working with primary age students.  I also obtained my master’s degree in Educational Leadership while there.  Before attending university in America, I lived in Kenya for many years (about 15), as my mother and father were missionaries.  Ninajua Kiswahili…….kidogo tu. It is very exciting for me to be back in Africa.  It is even more exciting to be serving Rwandan children!  My time here so far has been excellent!

I always welcome feedback or ideas from you about what can be done to make Wellspring a stronger place of learning and love.  I have placed my phone number at the bottom of this letter for your reference.  Please call me directly with any questions, concerns, or comments you may have as we work together.  One issue that I would like to see addressed is the timeliness and order of how the children are picked up at the end of the day.  I realize many of you have a difficult time finding your child, which we will try to improve on.  Another important matter is the time in which they are picked up by you.  Depending on the day and level of your child, please be at the school between 1:15 and 1:45 or between 4:00 and 4:30.  It is very difficult for our teachers to stay for a long time waiting for you to pick your child up.  We will be looking at additional ways to try to enforce this.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

I hope and pray that this year’s remaining month goes very well.  I am excited about partnering with you as we seek to improve upon what is already an incredible place here at the Wellspring Academy.  Thank you for welcoming me.

As the apostle Paul in the Bible said, may we walk “with all humility, and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.” (Ephesians 4:2)  I believe that walking towards Christ and seeking to follow, love, and obey Him is the best way to live on this earth.  True, lasting joy and happiness can only be found in Him.  Thank you.
