Wellspring Academy Celebrates Christmas and Teachers’ Day

Today, December 17th, 2025, Wellspring Academy joyfully celebrated Christmas and Teachers’ Day, bringing together teachers, non-teaching staff, administration, and board members in a moment of gratitude, reflection, and encouragement. The celebration recognized the dedication of educators and staff who faithfully serve the school community while marking the festive season with hope and appreciation.

During the event, the school administration extended warm Christmas and New Year wishes to all teaching and non-teaching staff, acknowledging their commitment and the vital role they play in shaping students’ lives and sustaining the school’s mission.

Speaking on behalf of the teachers, Mr. Allan Atukwatse expressed deep appreciation for the supportive environment created by the school leadership. In his address, he highlighted the calling of teaching and the collective impact educators have beyond the classroom. He noted:

“Teaching is far more than delivering lessons from a textbook. We are mentors, role models, and encouragers, shaping minds and hearts every single day.”

He also thanked the administration and board for empowering teachers through professional support and care for staff well-being, which enables them to serve learners with excellence and purpose.

Representing the Board, the Board Chairperson, Pastor Kajuga Amos, commended teachers for their faithfulness and reassured them of the board’s continued commitment to supporting their professional growth. He encouraged staff to remain grounded in both personal and institutional values, reminding them that purpose-driven work leads to lasting positive impact.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of outstanding staff through certificates and awards, honoring excellence, commitment, and service. The award recipients were: Ignace Niyitanga was honored as Teacher of the Year for the A’ Level & AS Section, Gentil Byiringiro for the IGCSE Section, Innocent Munyendamutsa for Lower Secondary, Jean Claude Gasana for Upper Primary, Justine Namwase for Lower Primary, and Dorine Niyomwungeri for Kindergarten. Florence Umuraza received the Rising Teacher of the Year award, Immaculate Umuhire was recognized as Supporting Staff of the Year, and the Science Department was awarded Best Department of the Year for its collective excellence and teamwork.

Wellspring Academy recognized its Teachers of the Year for their outstanding contribution to teaching and learning.

As Wellspring Academy celebrates Teachers’ Day and Christmas, the school also looks ahead with gratitude and anticipation. In 2026, Wellspring Academy will mark 20 years of educational impact, faithful service, and commitment to creating highly skilled, godly leaders and agents of transformation.

The Science Department was honored as Department of the Year for commitment, teamwork, and academic impact.
